Ken McDonald was born on November 17, 1958. He was the first baby born in the then Sierra Hospital (now Sonora Community Hospital), in Sonora, CA. Being raised in the foothills of California, he enjoyed a life of mountain living.
One cold, late night in November 1977, he and some of his friends were stargazing high up in the mountains. This night they were talking about the Lord Jesus Christ coming back to the earth and that He was going to set up his kingdom on this earth for 1,000 years. Then the curse would be lifted off of nature. Ken was an environmentalist so this captured his attention, but he also knew that he was a sinner, and would not be included if he did not ask Jesus Christ to forgive him of his sins and come into his heart and save him.
In the early morning hour, alone in a mountain cabin, up in the loft, he knelt beside his bed and prayed, "Dear Lord Jesus, I don't know how to pray. I've never really prayed before. I know that I am a sinner, and I believe that you died on the cross for me. Please forgive me of my sins, and come into my heart and save me. Amen!" With tears of joy, He knew that the Lord had saved him.
In 1978, after hearing a message preached by Pastor Ray Batema in Pamona, CA, he answered the call to preach. He attended Bible School earning his Bachelors of Divinity Degree in 1982 and his Masters of Theology Degree in 2000. He has been in the ministry since 1982. In 1996, he entered Evangelism and has preached in hundreds of churches across the United States as well as other countries. He and his wife, Terri Lee, continue to travel full time seeking to be a help and a blessing to the churches and people they have the privilege to minister to.
