Biography for Cat Schmidt: Born and raised in Texas I have lived most of my life in the Houston area. I am married and have four children and numerous grandchildren and my family continues to grow, so I am really blessed. I have always enjoyed writing but Peripheral Vision is my first publication. I look forward to writing another book soon, however my schedule is very demanding so it is really hard to find the time. I love life but I think it is just too complicated. I can remember when my mother stayed home and took care of the house and my siblings and me. Life was so simple and my family could survive comfortably with just my Dad's income. But now everything is so expensive that both Mom's and Dad's are forced to work in order to sustain a decent living. It seems everything I experience in life is in excess, prices are too high, taxes are too high, traffic is horrible because there are too many people on the road including the "should be" stay at home Mom's. Education is too expensive, expectations are too high and well it's just overbearing. Add to the mix the problem of trying to be computer savy because you must be in todays world rather it is for business or pleasure, I have so many passwords in my brain I get worn out just thinking about it. I loved the simplicity of my earlier years and that is part of the reason I decided to write a book. I love living in Texas though, so it's not all bad. Texas is so diverse and lovely that I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. But I do have dreams to travel one day, and continue writing.
