Chris Anderton

I am a researcher, writer and educator working in all areas related to music business, music history and music culture.

I have published books, book chapters, articles and journal special editions on topics such as music festivals, music distribution, music blogs, music history, and live music, and am Associate Professor in Cultural Industries at Solent University, Southampton, UK where I teach on the BA Hons Music Business degree.

My current research interests include:

* the cultural economy of music festivals and live events

* the future of the music industries

* the ‘hidden histories’ and mediations of popular, underground and niche music genres

* the management and marketing of popular music

* the role of music heritage in relation to the cultural cities agenda
