Bob Young

Bob Young is former mayor of the City of Augusta and senior executive in the administration of President George W. Bush. An Emmy-nominated broadcast journalist, Bob has been presented the Jefferson Davis Award for his work in Southern History by the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Two of Bob's books, "The Treasure Train" and "The Hand of the Wicked," have been recognized by the Frank Yerby Award at the Augusta Literary Festival. Bob attended Wofford College and Augusta University. Bob was a participating historian in the History Channel series "Beyond Oak Island" and "The Curse of Civil War Gold," and has appeared in a number of theatrical productions, including "POMS," "Flight" and "The Blind Side." He is an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Bob and his wife Gwen, a retired real estate broker, live in Augusta’s historic Summerville district.
