Hi I'm Tom Tompkins, also known as Tommy Transit. I call myself a bus driver on a mission.

What's my mission? Quite simply: to positively change people's lives both on the job and off.

For over 21 years I drove a city bus in Vancouver, Canada. I quickly discovered how disconnected and isolated people seemed to be and thought there might be something I could do to make my day more interesting and lighten up others who climbed aboard my bus.

That's when I remembered that as a driver I am in a unique position to affect more than 150,000 people I picked up on my busy city bus route every year. That's a lot of people!
