Don Martin

Don Martin founded Don Martin Public Affairs (http://www.donmartin.com) in 1989 because of his passion for solving complicated public relations and public affairs issue. A major part of his consulting involves Internet Reputation Management and Public Relations, which are emerging as the predominant lead role in marketing and advertising.

The company helps individuals and companies deal effectively with the news media and social media, Internet reputation management, and to plan for or deal with an emerging crisis, or to help with their public relations needs.

He was an original founding partner in Legi/Slate, a computerized bill and vote tracking business on the US Congress that was later sold to The Washington Post. He also published and edited Texas Government Newsletter for five years, and is a long time member of the Society of Professional Journalist (SPJ-SDC) and the Public Relations Association of America (PRSA).

Martin also wrote a book on Austin history. "Austin" was published by Arcadia Publishing in May 2009. The book is available in all major bookstores and Austin museum stores, on-line at the major on-line booksellers such as Amazon. He is the author of The Complete Do-It-Yourself Online Reputation Management Workbook published as a Kindle book in January 2014.
