Fred Dawkins

Fred Dawkins is a true polymath - a serial entrepreneur, an acclaimed author, and a thought leader who has left a lasting impact on business and literature alike. A gold medal graduate of the University of Toronto with both BCom and MA (Econ) degrees, Dawkins has jointly built successful ventures across retail, manufacturing, and land development. The most recognizable venture being as co-founder of The Olde Hide House which proved it was “worth the drive to Acton.” His entrepreneurial expertise is captured in his celebrated ‘Entrepreneurial Edge’ series (Everyday Entrepreneur, Family Entrepreneur, and Ageless Entrepreneur), published by Dundurn Press. ‘Ageless Entrepreneur’ even earned the endorsement of Tiff Macklem, the current Governor of the Bank of Canada.

Dawkins commitment to innovation led to his role as one of the founding partners of the original Creative Destruction Lab at the Rotman School of. Management at the U of T, a globally renowned program that bridges cutting-edge research, MBA talent and venture capital mentorship - now emulated at a dozen top universities.

In 2024 Fred Dawkins returned to his writing passion with two strikingly different books that showcase the breadth of his story telling:

- ‘My Camino: Things I Learned Walking with Our Grandson” is a heartwarming memoir of intergenerational bonding, as Dawkins chronicles walking 800 kilometers across Spain’s famed Camino de Santiago at age 71 alongside his 22-year-old grandson. It is a moving tribute to resilience, family and lessons learned on the road.

- “The Noah Project”, the gripping first installment of “The Arcadia Chronicles” is a contemporary geopolitical thriller set in 2032. Today’s economic strife will be resolved in some manner as neither the U.S. nor China are ready for a complete divorce. This compelling story unfolds against the backdrop of a world grappling with the aftermath of this initial economic warfare.
