Joseph E. Fahey

I live in rural upstate New York with my wife, two dogs, two cats, a miniature horse and three mules. My wife tells people that she lives with four jackasses and three of them are trainable.

After work, when you live in the middle of nowhere, you have a lot of time on your hands. When you have a lot of time on your hands, you have to find things to do. After work, my wife cares for all of the animals in the barn, leaving me with a lot of time on my hands. That is why I write.

By day, I'm an elected criminal court judge in the New York State Court System. Before that,I was a criminal defense lawyer. I was included in the first ten editions of the Best Lawyers in America. Now, I belong to a number of Irish historical and cultural organizations. I'm an Irishman!

I also taught at Syracuse University College of Law and have written numerous law review articles and on the Irish Peace Process.

I like to write about people and events that interest me and haven't already been exhaustively covered. I've completed a book about a case I handled involving a double homicide involving the issues of mental illness and legal insanity. I'm currently seeking a publisher for it. I've just begun working on a biography of another Irish leader who also led a fascinating life. I love to write and look forward to the task.

I have discussed my work more extensively at http://syracusepress.wordpress.com/2014/03/07/author-spotlight-joseph-e-fahey/
