Andy Welch

Andrew Welch lives in the UK. He is a keen cyclist and mountain biker. After a season of mountain bike guiding in Croatia in 2005, Andrew had an idea to travel by bike. On his return to the UK he joined two mates to bike across the highlands of Scotland as training then in 2007 they left to cycle around the world. The journey took them across Europe, Turkey and the Caucasus before they separated. Andrew continued through Iran, Pakistan, India and Nepal over the following year before returning to live in Georgia. in 2010 a bike trip with his mate Tom Allen across Mongolia concluded that chapter of travel. On returning, Andrew lived in London, studied at Goldsmiths and spent many hours exploring the city on foot. He returned to Georgia in 2014 to run mountain bike tours. He now lives in the UK. Andrew has written numerous books and guidebooks about his travels which he hopes will help and inspire others.
