Ellen Belitsky

Ellen Belitsky is an imaginer. Characters burst into her mind and insist that their stories be written. In addition to her books, her work has been published in Ms. and Child Life. All of her books are about people, their relationships, and how they can find ways to live together in peace. On every other level, they're all very different. "Perchance to Feast" is a contemporary fantasy, "Prisoners of Purple" is a medical mystery with paranormal overtones, and "Imagine If..." is a story of love and peace. Collections include The Longitude and Latitude of Life, a book of short stories, and "Soaring with Broken Wings," a collection of poetry and a few other short pieces. Her latest book, "As Miraculous and Ordinary as Acorns," is the fictional story of a lifelong friendship, and of identical night-dreams four girls/women share.

All of Ellen's personal profits are donated to charity.

A sculpture on Ellen's desk demands that the viewer "create peace." She tries, in everything she writes.
