Rev. Mantu Joshi has a B.A. from Hope College with majors in Biology and Music, where he was winner of a Distinguished Artist Award in Theater and nominated for an Irene Ryan Award, among other awards for writing and academics. He finished his Master's in Divinity as a Presidential Scholar, a Jackson Scholar, and a recipient of the HANA Scholarship and Quentin-Nolte Prize. As a Resident Chaplain at Alta-Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley, California, he learned to minister to people of diverse beliefs and backgrounds.
Everything Mantu shares in "The Resilient Parent" reflects the diversity of his family--his children have different neurological and developmental special needs and his wife is a person with a visual impairment. His warm and infectious writing style was born out of both his award-winning academic work and his nearly twenty years of down-to-earth care of thousands of parishioners, including a congregation in Portland, OR. He writes as if he's talking with you one on one, over coffee, sharing personal stories while offering you solace and healing. He understands you are humbled by the unrelenting work of parenting your exceptional child, but he shows you how to be the best resilient version of yourself.
