John Celona has spent a lifetime incorporating healthy food, fitness and fun into a busy life and career. He has spent decades developing his approach to making great tasting, healthy versions of everything from pizza to pasta to fine French cuisine. On the fitness side, John began as a fat kid before starting into fitness, eventually completing something like a dozen marathons, the Canadian Ironman Triathlon, 9 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlons, and many other events. He rounds out his other training with strength training, stretching, and dance. John also writes science fiction.
An engineering graduate of Stanford University and an attorney, John clerked for the Hawaiian Supreme Court. His career has been as a management consultant and his textbook on risk analysis methodology, "Decision Analysis for the Professional," was first published in 1986 and is presently in its 4th edition. John also teaches at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive education levels in the School of Engineering at Stanford University, and in the American Course on Drug Development and Regulatory Sciences.
John is married and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He relaxes by tending his orchard, vegetable and herb gardens, and rose garden. He races and shows his Porsche and is the President and Newsletter Editor of the Golden Gate Region Porsche Club of America. John is also the Technical Director of the Foothill Repertory Dance Company and performs with the Company.
