I am: husband, father, freethinker, skeptic, philosophical theist, educator, bureaucrat, mathematician, white-hat hacker, amateur historian, freelance writer, Freemason, and occasional bingo caller. In a former life I wrote and edited a number of books for the tabletop roleplaying game industry. I now write original work in the hard science fiction, space opera, and historical fantasy genres, sometimes under the pen name of "John Alleyn." I live in suburban Maryland with my wife, two children, and (strangely enough) no cats.
