He also holds a degree in International Trade and Finance from Chaminade University of Honolulu; and is a trained Emergency Medical Technician from Merritt College of Oakland, CA; a trained Wilderness Medical First Responder from NOLS/WMI, Emergency Search and Rescuer; Endangered Species Rescuer and Responder; surfer, sailor, mountaineer, and former mixed martial arts competition fighter.

Born 1966 in Miami, Florida USA, he also lives and works in Miami and travels.
