Todd L. Shuler writes The Beachcomber — a 21-book Florida noir mystery series set on the Atlantic Coast of South Florida. The series follows Tracy Devereaux, a licensed Fort Lauderdale realtor and PI, and her German Shepherd Murphy, a trained detection dog who has never once been wrong about a person.

The Beachcomber is the first long-form, female-centered Florida crime series since John D. MacDonald went quiet in 1986. The Atlantic Coast was open territory. Tracy claimed it.

Shuler is also the author of the Kirkus Review–acclaimed Dew on Ginkgo Leaves historical epic, Yasuke: The Legendary African Samurai, and Dream Breach: First Contact. An Army veteran and ordained minister from Warner Robins, Georgia, he writes the kind of books where the setting is a character and the dog always knows first.
