SN Dijk was born in the Netherlands and moved to London in the eighties for a year of research. Love struck and the rest is history as they say. He is still active in research and is focusing on the role of cancer stem cells in cancer resistance and metastasis. As a hobby he writes romantic novels with a sprinkling of science. His latest novel The Trials of a Celebrity Life describes the ups and downs of Lucia Sanchez who realizes that money can't buy her love and won't halt the relentless progress of time. When she meets Dr Rocky Promontory on a holiday in the Seychelles she thinks she has hit the Jackpot. She falls in love and he has developed a new revolutionary skin cream based on the application of stem cells. Surely this is too good to be true! When she discovers that Dr Promontory may use parts of the elephant to grow his stem cells she realizes that she may have to choose between love and the survival of that beautiful species.
