David Holmes

David Holmes is a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner who has worked for local government and in the private sector for 25 years. His main interests have been in the field of Environmental Protection and pollution, including noise and nuisances. He has conducted research on how local authorities have dealt with abandoned mine entrances and been involved in other research projects on noise and other Environmental Protection issues. He has been a peer reviewer for an Environmental journal and has published several papers on Environmental Protection matters.

His first book was a guide on how to investigate and deal with abandoned mine entrances, his second book is "A Very Basic Guide to Noise and Noise Measurement" now in its second edition, aimed at non experts given the task of carrying out noise measurements or reviewing noise reports, who just need some pointers on where to start and what to be aware of.
