Jonathan Ridley

After completing a degree in Yacht and Powercraft Design, Jonathan joined a research and development organisation to work on hydrodynamic related projects ranging from yachts to VLCCs.

He then joined Warsash Maritime Academy (part of Southampton Solent University) as a Senior Lecturer, lecturing on a range of courses with units including ship stability and naval architecture. Following this, he moved into the role of Principal Lecturer (Operations), with responsibility for student support. He is now the Programme Group Leader for Engineering at Southampton Solent University. As well as responsibility for a range of courses, he lectures in ship stability, ship structures and naval architecture, and undertakes consultancy work for the maritime industry.
