S. McKane

Author S. McKane was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised on the Bronx-Manhattan border in Marble Hill. Her family moved to Rockland County in her senior year of High School. She was not a happy camper. Time moved on, she moved north to a town called Bloomingburg and that is where she met her husband, John.

McKane dabbled in Real Estate and found a secluded cabin nestled on a small, but mighty little river named Shawanga Kill. The cabin, just a shell, needed everything. A relentless task. They moved in a year later.

Real Estate became her game, she became Director of Sales, for the first Townhouses in the Catskills. Hidden Ridge at Kutschers was a hit. When the real estate market took a dive, it was the first stage of failure of McKane's career. It was at that time she had become ill. A myriad of auto-immune diseases attacked her, took her down, smothered her potential, and created a massive hell of pain.

From "Bloomingburg Antique and Art Center" to “Antiques and Artisans” to "Uncommon Grounds Coffeehouse and Cabaret" and finally to “Consignium,” in Wurtsboro, New York. McKane and her husband tried to make a go of it, to no avail.

After dusting off a whole bunch of failures, McKane appeared on a public access television show to promote a local event. Two television interviews later, Carl Richards, the host of “Keepin’ Country Strong ”invited her to stay on as co-host of his award-winning show, Sharon accepted his offer and became Carl’s sidekick for two years.

After co-hosting for two years, a stage manager suggested she develop a cable show of her own. "The Ebony and Ivory Show" was born. Wurtsboro’s spunky little redhead produced and hosted that one-hour show for two years every Wednesday at nine pm live, no rehearsals. Patricia Hall was her sidekick for two or three, unfortunately the show ended as there was no-one to fill Pat's shoes. Sadly she has since passed away.

S. McKane wrote “Gumshoe Goddess and the Catskill Caper" on a dare initiated by her psychic friend, Rifka.

Thirty days later she hit print… a manuscript was born.

Deep insight; writing is soulful and pain-relieving for McKane. Editing is quite the opposite. Once completed the manuscript sat for years. She continues to write.

Currently, she is working on a sequel to Gumshoe Goddess and the Catskill Caper.
