LYSIOUS

Lysious James Ogolo, mononymously known as Lysious, is a Nigerian novelist, poet, playwright, screenwriter, director, producer, actor, singer-songwriter and entrepreneur.

Lysious is always drawn to powerful love stories that transcend ethnicity, race, class and creed. Those are the kinds of stories he writes as well. One of his philosophies in life is summed up in this quote similar to Walt Disney's: "I don't want to inspire them and hope that they'll be entertained; I want to entertain them and hope that they'll be inspired."

Some of his favorite authors include Nicholas Sparks, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Chinua Achebe, Danielle Steel, Terry Mcmillan, James Patterson, and Toni Morrison, not necessarily in that order.

His first novel, Love Birds: Beyond Death, was published in 2011 to mixed reviews. Lysious describes the novel as a learning experience and a reflection of his potential as a writer. Following the release of his first novel, Lysious spent several years developing plays and other theatrical projects in the DMV.

He briefly attended Roosevelt High School, Washington, DC, and The University Of The District Of Columbia before graduating from Howard University in 2015 with a degree in Radio, TV and Film.

He was co-host and producer of Good Morning Gospel on WHBC, Howard University's Black Communicator, until his graduation in May of 2015. in 2014, while still a student at Howard University, Lysious launched the production company, Conbeach Ideas with the motto, Be Entertained, Be Inspired. He currently lives in Hyattsville, Maryland.
