Wendy Fuchs

Wendy Weber (Fuchs), Ph.D., grew up in Alaska and moved to the Illinois in 2000. For nearly 10 years she taught special education in elementary and middle schools before receiving her PhD and moving into higher education in 2008. She is a Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Dr. Weber has won multiple prestigious teaching awards throughout her tenure. She teaches instructional methods courses and supervises future special educators in their clinical practice. She also teaches mindfulness courses to people in helping professions (social work, teaching, nursing, etc). Dr. Weber's research interests include integrating mindfulness and meditation in schools, social-emotional learning, and multi-tier systems of support (MTSS).
