Tyra Olstad

Tyra A. Olstad is the author of two books as well as numerous research articles, creative non-fiction essays, photo essays, and hand-drawn maps, most of which center on her experience exploring and thinking about wild places. She has worked as a professor, park ranger, physical scientist, paleontology technician, and cave guide throughout the intermountain West, upstate New York, and coastal and interior Alaska. She currently lives and works at the far end of a fjord in Southeast Alaska.
