R. J. Brophy

Richard John Brophy was born in 1957 in the town of Brentwood, Essex. From Irish parents, he lived and worked in Brentwood for the first forty years of his life before leaving to live in Spain, in 'Mallorca', where he met his partner Anita. After living several years there, he left for Switzerland where he worked in Swiss private schools as an English Language Teacher. One day he decided to get another concept of life. He volunteered to work in a slum school near New Delhi in India. This experience prompted him to write about his days in the slum school.
