John L'Esperance

John L'Esperance was born in Portland,Oregon and grew up in Seattle. He received a B.A. in English literature from the University of Washington and initially entered the ranks of published writers as a poet at the age of 23. After travels in Europe and a host of different jobs he settled into the real estate business for 19 years before receiving the devastating terminal diagnosis of A.L.S.(Lou Gehrig's Disease) on the cusp of his 45th birthday.

As he started searching for a cure for his incurable affliction he began keeping a detailed journal. In it he recorded the various modalities he tried in an effort to thwart his seemingly inevitable demise. Ultimately, he came across information concerning a Brazilian healer and traveled to see him, in the process witnessing such astonishing miracles that his entire worldview was changed forever.

He immersed himself in many non-mainstream pursuits like shamanic journeywork, Santo Daime work as well as apprenticing to a Russian psychic and healer. Through these disciplines he learned how to access non-ordinary reality and the Information Field where he received extraordinary insights and guidance.

His writing focuses on the knowledge he's acquired during trance states, revelations received directly from his spirit guides, along with wisdom he's gained as a self-proclaimed spiritual anthropologist. His writing examines the profound spiritual forces at work in our lives and acts as a primer on how to deal with the challenges brought on by crisis and having to confront one's destiny.

In 1996 he was told he had, at most, two years left to live. Today he's still alive and thriving in his eighteenth year since diagnosis due precisely to the unprecedented knowledge discovered during his odyssey.
