Martin Green

Martin writes the official series of study guides for hairdressing and barbering on behalf of The Hair and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA). He is currently published by Cengage Learning for levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 and has written previously for Thomson Learning and MacMillan. In being one of the sector's leading experts, his series of course guides, now in their 7th editions, extend to NVQs, VRQs, and other international qualifications; his works have even been translated into Russian, Spanish, and Chinese editions.

He also produces eBooks and publishes educational guides for experienced professionals under the 'Hair Stylist's Guide' series. The first in this series: "Mirrored Vision - Finding Customers, Keeping Clients" explores client consultation and reveals some exciting new discoveries. Other books in the series include: "The Salon and the 'S' Word" and the " Ready for Hairdressing?" workbooks provide guides for new entrants into the craft.

After starting out as a practitioner and employer in the business, Martin taught hairdressing and barbering at Abingdon & Witney College. And as a keen believer in eLearning, he then moved to Heart of Worcestershire College to develop content for the Blended Learning Consortium where his considerable experience has helped to produce online learning materials, in not only his own subject sector but in many other vocational areas too.
