Inside the simple birthing room of a small sanitarium, a wail erupted, and the Goddess of Imagination's ears perked up because she recognized the plaintive cry of a future writer. There I lay, casting my hands energetically about, looking for a pen to chronicle the first moments of my life. From that day on, my goal has become telling stories, not only in prose but in rhyme and art as well—all vastly entertaining in their own way. I’d love to say I sailed with the Vikings or toured with Taylor Swift, but it would only be a lie. Although, I'd like to point out that novelists are paid to make up information, so technically, I'm allowed to lie. Really. The only thing I love as much as writing is reading. I read two or three books a week: thrillers, young adult books, mysteries, and historical fiction. Guess what I write? Thrillers, young adult books, mysteries, and historical fiction. That’s a tip I give to aspiring writers. Read what you want to write. Know the market. And enjoy doing your research. If you don’t enjoy it, you’re writing the wrong books, or you're in the wrong business. I’m in the "write" business (pun intended). I live on the "write" coast of the U.S., and I use the "write" side of my brain (as opposed to the wrong side) for my novels, so it’s no wonder that I became a "righter." Hmm… that sounds a lot better when I say it out loud. Read my books. Maybe you’ll like them. If you don’t, contact me and tell me what you hate about them. I might even thank you. Maybe, maybe not. It depends on how nicely you critique it.
