Jeremy’s Story (AKA: How did I end up here?)
My first job was picking up snails in the garden so that they would not eat my mother’s flowers. She agreed to pay me 2 cents each. Mom almost had a heart attack when I found 100 of them and she had to cough up $2.00. Talk about starting at the bottom! Anyway, I then had successively more lucrative jobs as a paperboy, busboy, cook and then ice cream man.
My life changing epiphany occurred when my father asked me if I wanted to invest some of my bar mitzvah money in the stock market. Why not, right? The first day, the account grew by $100. I was so excited I couldn’t sleep. My world was forever changed. Unfortunately, the next day the account declined by $100 and I was ready to throw myself off the nearest bridge. I like to say, I made my mistakes early. Many people learn their first lessons in investing by trial and error…and I was no exception.
30 years later, I have the good fortune of spending my days helping others maximize their hard earned savings. Money is the greatest labor saving device ever invented. It can help people reduce stress and live a life that they love. My book: A Good Financial Advisor Will Tell You...condenses 30 years of financial lessons into an entertaining, concise and useful guide to building and preserving wealth.
