Vance Pumphrey

Husband, Father, Author. Retired US Navy, Submarines. Currently the Maintenance Manager at a Glass Plant (wine bottles) in the Seattle area. I'm married to my wonderful wife of 35+ years and father to two great sons. I coached both of them through the select baseball world in Texas for 18 years and now they've moved on to wives and lives of their own. Bringing me one granddaughter (so far).

I write to give the voices in my head an audience. My books are Dungeons & Dragons based Adult Epic Fantasy - with a twist, or twists. My roots lie in Westerns (Louis L'Amour), Action Adventure (Cussler & Clancy), Fantasy/Science Fiction (Donaldson, Brooks, Eddings, and of course, Tolkien) and some general fiction (Archer, Uris, Michener). Plus many other genres that are difficult to place. My words are influenced by many of theses masters of the craft.

Valdaar's Fist is an overall story arc that will eventually contain three separate, but related, series' totaling ten books. The first series of four books is complete and I'm well underway in the second with the first book about to publish and the second nearing the halfway mark. I also have several 'history' or back story books outlined once I finish the ten.

There are more books and more series' trying to escape my brain, but I must finish Valdaar's Fist first. Come along for the ride and meet powerful sorcerers, steadfast paladins, wily rogues, pious clerics, fierce fighters and...dragons. In here there be dragons!
