Peter David Wilder writes from his home in upstate New York, where he lives with his family. Wilder holds degrees in geological sciences, history, and science education. He teaches science at a local high school, where he entertains students with stories of his past, while attempting to convey lessons about the natural world.
In 1983, when he was 23 years old, Wilder set off on a journey - mostly hitchhiking - across the United States and Canada. He faithfully preserved the record of his adventure in his third book, 'An Amazingly Kind Universe.'
Wilder's earlier books include a novel, 'Sweet Unpleasant Realities' - which is an odyssey across a landscape of magical realism - and a short collection of reflections on contemplative Christianity and Buddhism entitled, 'The Antidote to Time: Lessons from the Dream.'
Both 'An Amazingly Kind Universe' and 'The Antidote to Time: Lessons from the Dream' received 'Finalist' status in the National Indie Excellence Awards, and both books received 'Honorable Mention' at the Paris Book Festival.
