Connie Peck

Connie grew up in the shadow of the Superstition Mountains of Arizona. As a child she traveled extensively with her family, visiting and living in no less than seven states in the west, southwest, and deep south. She started riding horses at the age of seven, gave her first successful riding lessons at the age of eleven, and trained her first filly at the age of fourteen. She's raised and shown Quarter Horses, and played in gymkhana and play-days.

As an adult, she continued traveling, visiting all but five of the US states and vacationed in Japan. She obtained a teaching degree in reading and science and taught in Texas and Alaska. In writing, she began sending manuscripts, under the guidance of her father, to various magazines, and continued to write into adulthood, seeing her columns in animal journals and in Christian newspapers.

The Black Pony series is her first published books and is a compilation of her experiences with horses throughout her life. And, yes, there really was a Midnight - a truly magical pony.
