Roos Boum (please pronounce as in Rose, not as in rooster) is born in The Netherlands and in 2000 she emigrated to the south of France. With her partner Erik she has a little cottage with some twenty animals.

In 2004 Roos discovered the truth about her childhood. Her mother perpetrated child abuse through Pediatric Condition Falsification (Munchausen by proxy). In this case she invented an incurable illness for Roos, of which she soon would die.

To deal with her childhood and to help others and to spread information Roos wrote a autobiographical novel and published it as a selfie. She was discovered by a publisher and the debut novel became a bestseller. Since 2014 it is available in English: False Jasmine, A Youth Ripped Apart. So far known, worldwide this book is the first autobiographical novel in English that purely handles about this form of childabuse without other forms of childabuse.

Boum kept writing and yearly books from her hand are published. Besides that, she has been an editor of the magazine Pure Fantasy, she was a judge for several writing competitions, she was writing coach for the Castlefest book award and she is lector for several Dutch writers. In 2013 Boum devoted herself to participating in as many writing competitions as possible, and the results were very satisfying, with winning four awards. Roos Boum is known as a versatile author and she doesn't commit herself to one specific genre.

Her motto: Talked-about books, that leave you speechless
