Dr. John Vawter has been in ministry since college. He spent 10 years on the staff of Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) in England and Northwest USA as Area Director, served as a pastor in Minnesota and Arizona as well as being president of Phoenix Seminary in Phoenix, AZ and Western Seminary in Portland, OR. He has taught 19 doctoral courses in six different seminaries and spoken in 17 countries.
John has written four books. "Uncommon Graces: Christ-Like Responses to A Hostile World", which was nominated for the Gold Medallion Award has been called a “finishing school” on living a Christ-like life. "Hit by a Ton of Bricks: You’re Not Alone When Your Child’s on Drugs" grew out of a non-profit ministry that he and his wife founded aimed at helping parents who discover their children are abusing alcohol and other drugs. His daily radio program was heard on over 450 stations across the United States. "Achieving High Performance Friendship: A Book for Men" was co-authored with Dr. Jim Wetherbe a longtime friend and professor at Texas Tech University. "Anything for a Golf Ball: The Art of Finding Lost Golf Balls" is a humorous book about golfers looking for lost golf balls. As John says, “If you find any intellectual stimulation in this book you need to go see a counselor.”
