Michael Matsuda is president and founder of the Martial Arts History Museum since it's creation in 1999. He is also the former publisher of Martial Arts Magazine. Practicing the martial arts since 1967, he is considered one of the foremost authorities on martial arts history. He was a contributing editor for 20 years for both Inside Kung Fu and Black Belt magazine. He has authored nearly 100 articles for a variety of different sports and martial arts magazines.

Matsuda is the graduate of Masters University and has attended a number of highly respected educational facilities including 3 years at the American Film Institute (AFI) for filmmaking, including degrees in management/marketing, journalism, business and art design. For 10 years, he studied the design and management of museum and attended a number of business courses at the University of Southern California (USC) and graphic design at Cal State Northridge.
Matsuda was employed at the Head of the Media Department for Blue Cross of California for over 10 years, Art Director for Traveling Times Magazine, Art Director for Scott Advertising, Computer Training Manager for Cal Fed Bank and Training Instructor for Great Western Bank. A former graphic artist for Walt Disney Productions, Matsuda was also the Advertising Director for Los Angeles Valley College.
Matsuda was honored by receiving the award as one of the Top 100 Producers in America twice and graced the cover of Producer Magazine, Audio Visual Magazine, Inside Kung Fu Magazine and Martial Art Magazine. He received the Production Award from Blue Cross of California for his work on audio/visual programs.
Michael Matsuda is the only 6th Generation Grandmaster in the art of Monkey Kung Fu (Tai Shing Pek Kwar) and has also studied the arts of judo, kickboxing, hung gar kung fu and karate.
