I grew up in The Bronx. It was a great place to live and a great place to leave.

Following my graduation from the University of Oklahoma, I went to India, thinking I could find God. After much studying and getting into a lot of trouble, I left India after three years, thinking God would have to find me.

Returning to America, I settled in Boulder, Colorado where I began to write, Upon leaving Boulder after ten years, I moved to Manhattan, where I became friendly with Issac Asimov.

He asked me to write the next book in the Foundation series upon reading one of my manuscripts,which was flattering but quite intimidating; I didn't have the science background or the imagination.

"The science you can get from books," he said. "The imagination you get from the heavens."

So, I began to read a lot and look to the stars. Years later, upon returning to Boulder, I began the Astral series.

I wrote and self-published ten novels to excellent reviews in local papers, probably sold a thousand books out of the renowned Boulder Book Store, but made no wider effort to market these books. I didn't like the idea of selling myself--until now. I guess humility finds a way of catching up to the lot of us.
