Henry E. Prante

Henry E. Prante was born in Germany in 1929. He emigrated to Canada in January 1952 and his wife, Brigitte and daughter, Hella followed in May 1952. They settled in British Columbia.

Right from the start, Henry began exploring the vast wilderness of B.C. He met others who were doing the same and got into hunting, fishing and camping. He loved the great outdoors and vast expanses of good hunting territory.

Needless to say, Henry loved to tell a good tale or two about his hunting adventures. This is how his writing began.

In 1957 he went to night school and took creative writing courses even though English was his second language. By 1960 he had sold his first hunting article to the Northwest Sportsman Magazine. He later wrote regularly for them and B.C. Outdoors and also was particularly excited when he sold an article to the Field and Stream Magazine.

Later, in 1984 he wrote is first book, Kanadisches Jagdabenteuer: 30 Jahre im halbwilden Westen which was published by Paul Parry in Germany. In 1985 his Great Hunting Adventures was published by McLean Hunter in Canada. It has since been re-published on the Amazon platform by his daughter, Hella.

Hella has made a few articles available for Kindle as well as Great Hunting Adventures Volume 2. Volume 3 is nearly complete.

I hope you enjoy Henry's adventure tales. If you have read any of Henry's books please do leave a review. You are awesome and this is much appreciated. Thank you!

Henry would have loved this new publishing platform if he was still with us. I am still sad to say he died in 1992.
