Cem Unsalan

Cem Ünsalan is a full professor at the Department of Computer Engineering at Yeditepe University, Turkey since 2013. He is the Dean of Faculty of Engineering at the same university since 2023. Dr. Ünsalan also worked as a full professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Marmara University, Turkey between 2017 and 2023. He served as the department head there for four years. Dr. Ünsalan received his BSc degree (1995) from Hacettepe University, Turkey; his MSc degree (1998) from Bogazici University, Turkey; and his PhD degree (2003) from The Ohio State University, USA.

Dr. Ünsalan has published four books on microcontrollers and one book on FPGA systems. The three microcontroller books are on Texas Instruments' MSP430, MSP432, and MSPM0 architecture. The fourth book is on Arm Cortex M microcontrollers. The FPGA book is on Xilinx’s Artix7 FPGA chip. Dr. Ünsalan has also published books on embedded digital signal processing, digital control, and machine learning. All these books aim to introduce basic embedded and digital system concepts through practical applications. He has also published books on computer vision and image understanding.
