Matthew Schoonover

Matthew L. Schoonover was born in Corpus Christi, TX and has lived his whole life (so far) in Texas. He currently resides in the Rio Grande Valley. He is still married to his high school sweetheart, has 5 kids and 14 grandkids. Retired from his day job in 2009, he now spends his time writing novels, short stories, plays and spoiling his grandkids unmercifully.

"I've always loved reading," he writes, "so it was a natural progression to writing my own stuff." In addition to his novels, Mr. Schoonover has had one play produced, "Cupid Sucks," a romantic comedy. "My writing time for a completed novel can be anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 years … depending on the amount of family time I get, of course." He is currently collecting his short stories into two anthologies: "A Slice of Crime," for his mystery/suspense stories, and "Spirits for the Dead," for his macabre/supernatural tales.

He adds: "If there's a heaven on earth, I've found it."
