Signe A. Dayhoff

Signe A. Dayhoff, PhD, is a social psychologist from Boston University with post-graduate training in counseling, emotional intelligence, positive psychology, and interpersonal communications. For the past 30-plus years she has been a coach, author, and an expert in social anxiety and overcoming obstacles by eliminating limiting thoughts and maximizing skills and confidence. A former-social phobic, she taught social psychology and organizational behavior at Boston University, University of Massachusetts, and Framingham State College. She did research at M.I.T. and Fairview State Hospital and is author of 17 books (13 self-help and 4 cat) and 2,355 published newspaper, magazine, and Internet articles. In addition, she produced and hosted "The Inside Track," an alternative career development/personal marketing program, for 4 years for Continental Cablevision for which she was nominated for a "Conti Award." An animal lover and rescuer who believes that adopting a rescued animal is the "gift that keeps on giving," she has 20-plus senior rescue cats and writes about the benefits of the human-animal bond and her wild and woolly adventures with cats.
