Thorsten Uhle

Thorsten Uhle was born in 1971 in Hagen (Germany). After studying clinical and work and organizational psychology at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal, he taught and researched at a state position at the department for work and organizational psychology at the Ruhr Universität in Bochum. This was followed by a few years as managing director of a consulting company for occupational health and safety, before he started working for a industry park operator in 2008 as head of a psychosocial prevention department. With his team of psychologists, social workers and social pedagogues, he built up the products psychosocial counseling, psychology of occupational safety and occupational health management for almost 50,000 employees in-house and for customers. When he switched to an international pharmaceutical and agrochemical company in 2017, he was responsible for all issues relating to health management and health promotion for the group globally.

Since 2000, the graduate psychologist has published over 30 specialist publications on corporate health management, the psychology of occupational safety, personnel management and methodological issues. Together with his colleague Michael Treier, he wrote the standard book "Betriebliches Gesundheitsmanagent", which was first published by Springer in 2011 and will appear in 2019 as a completely revised fourth edition.

In addition to his commitment as honorary chairman of FC Gevelsberg-Vogelsang, he is also involved in the victim protection organization Weißer Ring e.V. and the Hospiz Emmaus e.V.
