Michael Houbrick

Michael Houbrick is the author of the crime novel, "inTWINition of murder" and is the big cheese (author/illustrator) behind the creation of the children's intellectual property, "Hollywood Rats!" The Hollywood Rats! have released five children's picture books under the name , "The Rat Pack of Hollywood" is Houbrick's make-believe utopia where a pack of celebrity animated rats embark on a music career.

Michael Houbrick, is the Big Cheese behind Mr. Brick Publishing. Reared in Spokane, Washington, Houbrick was one of seven children raised by a single mom. By the time Houbrick graduated from High School, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus recruited him for their world-renowned Clown College. After a brief stint with Ringling Bros, Houbrick left the fancy-pants world of the circus for a career in Hollywood. Houbrick's attention focused on the gimmicky side of the Hollywood tinsel and he became a Hollywood publicist, working on numerous television series and made-for-TV-movies for Universal Studios.

Houbrick's reputation as being easy to get along with and honest got him promoted. Soon Houbrick found himself representing top Hollywood celebrities. He promoted his clients by creating projects for them to star in. Most notable of Houbrick's creations was the television series, MADCAP MAGIC, which he served as creator and co-executive producer for PAX TV. Growing wary of the Hollywood scene, Houbrick cruised back to Spokane for a much slower paced life.

However, Houbrick really wanted to get back to his show business roots. He began to work on a variety of his own projects that utilized his artistic skills and creativity. One day, while having an out loud conversation with God, Houbrick asked, God, what should I do? I can't go back to Hollywood because there is nothing there but a bunch of rats. (insert bolt of lightning) It was at that moment an idea popped into his brain ...What if Hollywood was taken over by rats? That simple idea became the mousetrap, err rattrap for the Hollywood Rats!

In addition to being the big cheese behind the Hollywood Rats!, Houbrick has founded the non-profit foundation, OperationCheesyMedicine, where he helps terminally ill children write their own children's book. Houbrick is single and currently lives in Orlando, Florida. In addition to being an author and illustrator, Houbrick is a sought-after motivational speaker.

Houbrick also wrote the crime novel, "inTWINition of murder" which was written as a way to deal with the tragic death of his beloved twin brother, Matthew.
