Jo Henry

Jo Henry is reference and instruction librarian at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Library (Georgetown Campus), South Carolina. Previously she was a librarian at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and the information services librarian and director of the Smart Start Resource Center at South Piedmont Community College. Additionally, she has over twenty years' experience in sports club management and instruction. Henry obtained a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a Master of Public Administration from Georgia Southern University. She has published in Journal of Library Administration, College & Research Libraries News, Public Services Quarterly, Library Review, and Community & Junior College Libraries, and has presented at the ALA Annual Conference, North Carolina Library Association Conference, South Carolina & Southeastern Library Association Joint Conference, and Metrolina Library Association Conference. Along with Dr. Richard Moniz, she has facilitated numerous workshops and ecourses on topics relating to workplace civility. She has co-authored six books: Fostering a Civil Workplace Strategies for Personal and Organizational Success (2025); Cultivating Civility: Practical Ways to Improve a Dysfunctional Library (2020); The Dysfunctional Library: Challenges and Solutions to Workplace Relationships (2017); The Mindful Librarian (2016); Fundamentals for the Academic Liaison (2014), and The Personal Librarian: Enhancing the Student Experience (2014).
