Francis O'Gorman

Hello, I'm Francis O'Gorman a native New Zealander who lives the warmer months over there and the colder months here on the beach on Australia's Gold Coast where a lot of us swim all year round.

I'm not all that adverse to the cold as I used to hunt the Taipo Valley on the top end of NZ's Southern Alps back in the 1960's, walking up the hills with red deer who were classified as pests due to the erosion they caused.

We'd sometimes shoot a big trout in the stream at the back of our house for the evening meal. I was so fortunate to experience the freedom of the bushman's lot.

I love my sport, however I dislocated both shoulders playing rugby union, so dad shunted me off to the rowing sheds to strengthen them up. I stuck with that sport and eventually won a few Australian and New Zealand elite class rowing titles.

The higher quality products I use such as the IceBreaker range of pure Merino classy casual woollen wear, or the German made ozone spabath and health pro workshops for treatments such as hip rehabilitation massage I love to promote.

I was helping build steel crayfishing or lobster boats for the lucrative Chatham Island fishery in Timaru around 1964 then about 8 years later was building steel cruising boats around Sydney NSW.

After retiring from rowing in '73 I built my own boat on a dairy farm in NZ's Bay Of Plenty, then headed off to Australia where I combined cruising the Great Barrier Reef with Yellowfin long lining, then prawn trawling and eventually ended up with my own little lobster boat before a stint as marine engineer on the deep water trawl fleet working around Tasmania and south of Australia.

I also fished the king crabs off the West Coast of Tasmania a season before coming ashore and taking up professions in sport and exercise coaching, nursing and physical therapy which all complement each other... A sort of self preservation campaign if you like.

I am in the middle of a bout of prostate and bladder cancer and am just about to have the obstruction to my waterworks eased and the bladder cancer which sits in a diverticulum, or little pocket in the wall of the bladder blasted with radiotherapy.

Over the last year I have done a lot of trial and error with supplements and therapy to reduce my waterworks' problems and last ultrasound checkup it was found I had a reduction in both prostate size and the size of the bladder diverticulum… At last I have gained some success with my natural cancer treatment program.

Recently I was back home in Christchurch for a nephew's wedding and was thrilled to see the high standard of service offered there, way ahead of the Australia I know. I do know what bad service is, as I know what good and even great service is.

Let me put it like this: If you enjoy your coffee you know there are different standards in coffee service which is all over the place... But why?

The coffee makers lot is to simply to get a good product, follow instructions to bring you a coffee with the tide in, with right amount of foam, good strength of flavour and to me, the exact temperature is important.

Feel free to catch up with me on http://healthylifestylehelp.com

Thanks for being here, Francis.
