I'm a dreamer!

As a student in public school, I found myself in trouble: I spent hours day-dreaming and paying little attention to the chalkboard. When my parents were called to my high school by my councilor, they were told, "Dan is not college material, and as his parents, you should consider a military career for him". Did she get kickbacks from the recruiter? The army did not like dreamers!

Even with her glowing recommendation, I still found my way to college, and discovered my day-dreams were transforming into affirmations. Most professors wanted robots to regurgitate facts, politics, and thoughts; but there were others who looked for dreamers - so, I paid attention to those who dreamt.

In my dreams, I was an explorer searching for gold and diamonds; in the afternoon, I was carried to the cosmos as an astronomer. On Tuesday, I was a martial arts instructor. Wednesday, I wrote books. Thursday, I stood on stage as a rock n' roll star, but Fridays, my dreams took me to a podium as a popular public speaker.

My affirmations drove me to take employment as an astronomy lecturer, conduct geochemical research on lunar and terrestrial rocks: later I became the Senior Economic Geologist for the Wyoming Geological Survey at the University of Wyoming. I traveled throughout North America speaking to clubs and professional organizations about geology; other times I taught traditional martial arts clinics.

I found gold, diamond and colored gemstone deposits. I was on the discovery team of one of the largest gold deposits on earth while consulting for Western Gold Exploration and Mining in Alaska. I consulted for diamond and gold companies, ran the North American diamond exploration program for DiamonEx, an Australian company, and searched for gold for other interests.

Following my 18th induction into a martial arts hall of fame, I was recognized as a 'Martial Arts Legend', years after teaching karate, kobudo, jujutsu, samurai arts, and self defense at four universities. In 1999, I was offered sokeship of a traditional martial art and stepped up as the world head (grandmaster) of a Shorin-Ryu (Okinawan) karate.

My dreams led me to write 1,000+ works including abstracts, papers, books, maps, blogs and websites & contributed to nearly 100 books. I recently celebrated my 55th anniversary in martial arts; and was inducted into Halls-of-Fame for martial arts, education and geological sciences. Earlier in life, I was a professional musician for a rock n' roll band, and years later, became an artist. My dreams carried me to many places. But, it was not me - no - it was God who taught me to dream.
