Dale Millar served in the British Army for 10 years and saw service in the first Gulf War after which he was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Her Majesty the Queen. An engineer by training, he served in several armored regiments, leading large teams that were responsible for the maintenance and repair of a vast array of vehicles and equipment – usually in the most arduous of conditions. He spent time in Kuwait, Iraq, Germany and Canada during his military career, thereby gaining his first experiences of working internationally.
Upon leaving the Army, Millar has worked in the sales environment with several large corporations such as Cisco and British Telecom as well as for a number of start-up companies. He has enjoyed stellar success with many different sales teams, primarily in the areas of high technology hardware and software. His customers include a number of multinational companies and he has been actively involved in building C Suite relationships all over the world.
He has lived and worked in Silicon Valley, UK, Germany, France, Russia, and the Middle East gaining both valuable and fascinating experience in international business and this is an on-going area of interest and specialization.
Millar was educated at the Royal Military College of Science where he read for a bachelors degree in Electronic Systems and Henley Management College where he took his MBA.
He lives with his wife and three grown-up children in South West London, earning a living from his writing, the running of sales coaching engagements and managing Big Data and telecommunications businesses. In his spare time he enjoys playing sports and studying languages. He speaks French, German and Arabic.
