Kathy Beliveau

Kathy Beliveau loves nature, writing, music, yoga and swimming in the sea! She was raised in Lantzville, a small, seaside community on Vancouver Island and has traveled extensively. Her journeys, including sailing from Norway to Brazil, added layers of insight and reverence to her already adventurous nature. Kathy’s greatest joys are her children. She has a wonderful stepson and three amazing daughters.

Kathy’s interest in yoga has grown over the years. She has studied Children’s Yoga and is a Certified Yoga Instructor. As well, Kathy writes for children and adults and has been recognized in contests and literary magazines. Her stories entertain primary grades and preschools and are used by Storybook Theatres and for special needs programs.

Kathy’s experience as a mother, a yoga instructor, a preschool teacher and education assistant, has made her aware of a ‘disconnect’ between society and nature. Her purpose and passion is to inspire children and adults through yoga and writing. Her light and playful style connects kids with nature and people to the planet.

Kathy is a member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators) Canscaip (Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators and Performers) and CWILL (Children’s Writers and Illustrators of B.C.) She lives in her hometown, close to nature and the sea.
