Ambika Devi

Ambika Devi is an international award-winning, best-selling author, speaker, scholar, mythologist, mystagogue, astrologer, and lifelong researcher of the human mind and consciousness. A teacher of yoga and meditation since 1978, Ambika spent twenty-one years as a professor of Holistic Health and curriculum developer. With a Master’s degree in the Education of Yoga and Meditation, along with degrees in Astrology and Fine Arts, her work bridges Eastern philosophy and Western thought through yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, Advaita Vedānta, mythology, astrology, sound, and the human voice.

Her seventh book, Mythic Alchemy, explores Navarasa—the nine emotions—through the stories of Ganesha, bringing mythology, yoga philosophy, meditation, Ayurveda, and embodied practices into a contemporary exploration of emotional intelligence and self-awareness. Her other books span fiction, poetry, mythology, relationships, personal transformation, and the Goddess.

Her novel, Lilith, received two honors in the 2015 International Book Awards, and Unfolding Happiness was named one of the Top 100 Indie Published Books of 2016. She was named one of the 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading in 2017 and received the mARTies award for Best Literary Artist in 2018.

Ambika brings scholarship, storytelling, humor, and decades of lived practice to the page and stage. Her work has taken her from university classrooms and conferences to The Learning Channel, public television, radio, podcasts, and print. Whether writing, teaching, or speaking, she remains devoted to staying curious about what it means to be human.
