A.K. Kossak

Kossak graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, and worked for more than 30 years as a cinematographer, producer, and writer. He has been a member of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) since 2004.

While teaching screenwriting at Cal State University, San Bernardino, he partnered with the university’s Veterans Success Center to launch “Written by Veterans” in 2014. Members of this creative writing program for veterans and their families have published more than 100 books.

For his work on behalf of veterans, Kossak has been recognized by the California State Assembly, the California State Senate, and the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. He also received the San Bernardino County Community Excellence Award.

In his fiction, he loves exploring North America’s social canyons, caves, and crevices. Inspired by the lawless outsiders he encountered, Kossak developed a taste for noir, edgy crime stories propelled by sophisticated, seductive schemers.
