A. K. Kossak grew up in Germany, graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, and spent more than 30 years capturing stories from behind the camera as a cinematographer, producer, and screenwriter. A member of the Writers Guild of America since 2004, his decades in the film industry instilled in him a sharp eye for visual tension and razor-sharp pacing.
In 2014, while teaching screenwriting at California State University, San Bernardino, Kossak channeled his passion for storytelling into the community. He partnered with the university’s Veterans Success Center to launch “Written by Veterans.” Under his guidance, members of this creative writing program for veterans and their families have published more than 100 books, including five highly regarded anthologies. For his dedicated work on behalf of veterans, Kossak has been recognized by the California State Assembly, the California State Senate, and the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. He has also received the San Bernardino County Community Excellence Award.
As a novelist, Kossak brings that same cinematic intensity to the page. He plunges readers into the dark, lawless crevices of North America, exploring fringe worlds populated by sophisticated, twenty-something schemers. These are characters who prey on the upper crust for a living—and turn on each other for the sheer challenge of the perfect betrayal.
