Barbara Lowell

Barbara Lowell an award-winning author of traditionally published nonfiction picture books, early readers, and school and library books. Her latest nonfiction picture book, Maria and the Cave Paintings, a Junior Library Guild Gold Star Selection, will be released by Holiday House on November 3, 2026. She is the author of Littoral Combat Ships, Submarines, and Amphibious Craft, 2026 by Black Rabbit Books.

Barbara loves writing and collecting picture book biographies, chocolate, and traveling to new places especially in Europe. She is an active member of SCBWI, SCBWI Oklahoma/Arkansas. She lives in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
