Gottfried Giritzer

Born in Upper Austria, he completed his education in communications engineering and electronics at the Higher Technical Institute of Steyr, Upper Austria. He began his professional carrier as a radio and television engineer with a small commercial operation in 1977. Following his military service, he continued his work at another commercial operation and after passing his master craftsman certification in that operation, as mandated by trade law, he continued to work as the engineer in charge for a few years. His 12 years of commercial activities spanned all areas of a small company: purchasing, sales, technical troubleshooting and systems with new technology, work organisation and personnel management, as well as accounting.

Following a switch to a mid-sized industrial firm in the electronics industry in 1990, he completed all trainings to become a quality engineer, quality manager and quality auditor and worked part-time as a certification auditor for ISO 9000, including the necessary training courses, for 11 years in addition to his full-time position.

In addition to the numerous technical training courses at renowned device manufacturers and as a microprocessor programmer, he also acquired further skills such as expert logistician, ERP administrator, project manager and various IT training courses. Thus, he spent 13 years as the head of the IT department at an industrial firm in addition to his position as a quality manager.

Giritzer also acquired the skills necessary for quality management in an accredited calibration laboratory in compliance with the legal statutes and EN 45001 starting in 2000 and later in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025. He was nominated official quality manager representative of a designated laboratory of the Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying by the Technical Committee Quality of EURAMET, the European Organisation of National Metrological Institutes.

Over the course of his 30 years of professional work, he was able to collect many experiences in the management of technical projects in both small and mid-sized commercial and industrial operations, as well as logistical, IT and organisational projects.

His understanding of the interactions and connections of all aspects of a company is one he acquired through his many years of work in the middle management of a company in the electronics industry, which he continues to exercise.
