John Michael Helms

Dr. John Michael Helms grew up in Louisville, Alabama where he developed a love for the outdoors, people, family, and God. As a columnist for The Moultrie Observer in Moultrie, Georgia and The Paper in Hoschton, Georgia, Michael won nine writing awards from The Amy Foundation. He enjoys writing about personal experiences and observations of life and then giving the reader some challenging words to live by. His writings are reflective in nature. His words will prompt you to listen to your own life, to be more attentive to the environment, and and the voice of God.

His most recent book is a children's book about siblings, Yob and Lerig. "Yob and the Bird Dog," is the first in a series of children's books that will help children deal with their emotions, morals, and values. In the first book, Yob learns to make wise choices.
